The Attain Color Kit

i love the nail hub youtube! i was so excited to see this new brand attain come out under her umbrella and was super excited to support, especially with this really great bundle. everything in it is super awesome - i love the builder gel and top coat, the “strength” powder, all of the tools, they’re all so awesome. (unexpected fave - the silicone work mat - i use it for so much stuff!) my nails have gotten SO long using this system, and none of my nails have broken since i began using this. (i just cut them down for the first time! purposefully, lol!) the curing lamp is so great (and really cute!) i’m definitely planning on continuing to use the attain builder gel and top coat system. it actually smells kinda good!!

however, my biggest gripe is with the gel nail polishes. the kit comes with five, which is rad — i got the “energetic” color kit. i’ve been using it all for a couple/few months now, and i’ve noticed that the only color that consistently works for me is the grapefruit (which is also a super cute jelly color, which i was very excited to realize - the rest are traditional opaque). i have SO MUCH TROUBLE getting the other colors to set - they all bubble up and flake immediately, no matter what i do. i know i’m doing the application right — i’ve invested in other hema-free polishes (kokoist, madam glam) and have had 0 trouble with those polishes, as well as the grapefruit mentioned before. for example, i just did my nails yesterday with a mixture of polishes, and the chartreuse bubbled up yesterday on one finger and chipped on the other. (i cured it like, three times throughout the process and definitely prepped accurately! the rest look perfect, including a few “grapefruit” nails that i know will last me at least another 2-3 weeks.) anyway, this is all to say, ringing endorsement of the entire system, i still think this package is a great value, but i would explore other brands of gel polish. the only polish from the energetic kit i would recommend is obviously the jelly grapefruit - curious if the other attain jelly colors are as rad. i’m definitely going to continue supporting attain! hoping that the next wave of opaque colors from attain gets a reformulation.
